A water-resistant barrier (WRB) is not required for most accessory structures. Please consult your local building code for details.
Yes, LP recommends the use of a water-resistive barrier if you plan to insulate the shed walls. It can be difficult to add WRB once siding has been installed so we suggest planning ahead.
If you’re planning on insulating a shed, consider choosing LP® SmartSide® Panel Siding since SmartFinish® and SilverTech® panels are intended for open wall use.
LP® ProStruct® Flooring with SmartFinish® has been aesthetically designed as a finished shed flooring. LP has not tested this application and does not have guidance on this topic.
There are three types of foundations you can use for a shed – crushed stone, concrete pad, or treated 4”x6” beams. For further details, please refer to the LP® ProStruct® Flooring Installation Instructions.
A minimum of 6” is required between the ground and the LP® ProStruct® Flooring with SmartFinish®. Also, ensure the siding or trim is a minimum 6” clear from grade.
